Scud Racing has continued its recent dramatic expansion program by adding race mechanic Terry Stott to the teams’ full-time roster.
The team is pleased to welcome Terry to the team to oversee the top-level preparation of the teams three cars throughout the 2008 Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship.
Scud Racing, owned by former competitor Bill Maddocks, campaigns cars in the outright Championship (#35 Stuart Kostera), Opes Prime National Class (#89 Mathew Radisich) and Trophy Class (#25 Justin Tate) in this years’ Gold Star series.
Stott has extensive experience working within the highly competitive Formula 3 championship, having been a part of Astuti Motorsport’s successful 2007 championship campaign with Charlie Hollings.
Stott will be based at Scud Racing’s Melbourne workshop and will work with existing staffer Rick Bennett on both car preparation as well as overall workshop and team presentation and maintenance.
Rick has been working with the team for over ten years, however will take a more limited role in the teams operation due to current health issues.
Team owner Bill Maddocks said that the appointment of Stott to Scud Racing was a further sign of the teams’ commitment to its drivers.
”We are very pleased to welcome Terry to the team – he comes highly recommended and will be a great asset to our pre-round and race weekend preparations,” Maddocks said.
”We have already made a significant investment into the championship this season however the appointment of Terry reaffirms how serious we are about further lifting the teams image and level of professionalism.
”We proved at Adelaide – by travelling for 18 hours to get a new engine for Justin’s car – how far we will go to make sure our drivers get the best possible chance to win.
”We have a very exciting program already in place this season, with top drivers well in contention for race winning results in each of the three classes. There are more announcements to come regarding the direction we are taking the team, however this is a great step forward.” He said.
Scud Racing will return to action during round three of the Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship for the CAMS Gold Star at Oran Park, between April 25 – 27.
